Hello everybody!

I am finally(I say so, because we arrived home today at 04:30 AM) back from 10th AN-2 meeting in Jelenia Gora, Poland. I have taken some 500 photos, I will be posting them as soon as possible - I now need to edit and sort them out.

The 10th AN-2 meeting will be held in Jelenia Gora, Poland. You can find a map here. The event will take place from 10 to 13th of August 2006. The official site of Airclub Jelenia Gora is here, and we have finally received the schedule of the meeting. 1. You must cover flight cost
2. You must register by 05.08. 2006.

When registering you must supply organisators with the following information:

1. registration of an airplane
2. names and surnames of participants
3. accomodation you prefer (hotel, camping etc.)

On the third day of our meeting we had a nice trip to Mlada Boleslav, where these incredible airplanes were presented. It's unbelievable, but they're real!

On the third day we had a common flight to Mlada Boleslav and then to Hradec Kralove. I was amazed by a huge Âkoda factory in Mlada Boleslav, it seemed to occuppy half of the city. Visiting the Âkoda museum rapidly changed my mind about this car. The history of this company is unbelievable! Visiting Austrian-Prussian war museum near Hradec Kralove was also nice. Then we had to climb a sightseeing tower,which took us 192 steps, and we made it! At the end of the day the last party was held. It was a pity that both Swedish and Polish teams wanted to organize the next meeting, and it was decided to be in Poland. The 5th time in Poland, and the 2nd in Jelenia Gura. So, dear Polish guys, it better be good! I really wanted it to be held in Sweden, because Poland is just too boring. Well I hope the 11th meeting will be in Sweden.

Overall, the meeting was very nice! Thank You, dear Czech friends, for organizing this nice meeting, hope to see You in Poland next year.

Baltic Bear - A star of the meeting

The interior

The Baltic Bear is eqquiped with two cameras: one on the tail and the second one on the left wing.

Baltic Bear or Air Unique, as owners call it, was definitely the best airplane of the meeting. Both the exterior and interior are fantastic! This 5 passenger seat airplane has everything: from luxurious business-class seats to the newest stereo system. The plane is equipped with 2 cameras outside, so you can watch the area on 2 LCD screens when flying. Although the owners of this plane are from UK, it is still Lithuanian flagged. It's probably the tradition that the best planes of the meeting are Lithuanian-made. This particular airplane was made in Kaunas aviation. More information about the Baltic bear in: www.an2.co.uk.

The first day

The very first foreign airplane arriving at airport Jaromer, and its, of course, a Lithuanian one.

We had a nice trip to the Josefov fortress nearby the airport. The fortress was built in 19th century, before the Autrian-Prussian war to protect the city, but never used. It is really HUGE and nicely preserved, a Czech way...
